This was my first time playing Emperor’s Children… oh man are they fast. We played a mission where there was a bridge connecting the deployment areas, but I never really got on top of the mission (I need to spend more time looking at how they’re scored). The game was excellent fun with a high death toll on both sides.
Moment of the game was my (recently promoted) Captain going toe to toe with a Daemon Prince. The vile creature had been damaged previously, but using a Master-crafted Power Sword to vanquish it was still sweet!
I played reasonably well here, apart from not deep striking my Inceptors on T1. I was a little unlucky in parts, not quite removing some units of Infractors and their pesky Lord Exultants when I counter charged them. This would have changed the complexion of the game if not the outcome.
Peadar is an easy going and skilled opponent. We had a really fun game.
Next time I need to take a few moments to appreciate what’s going on in the mission and plan accordingly! Also, I’ll try not to deploy too close to the Emperor’s Children…
