The Danes had generally been peaceful neighbours. There had been some unpleasantness before Cathal mac Domnall’s father’s father’s time, but the relative strength of the foreign warriors had ensured the boundaries between lands were quite stable. That stability was about to be shattered. Cathal now led the Fianna Brighde to attack the nearest Viking settlement. Too many cattle had gone missing recently. All signs pointed to the Danes…

Garreth hadn’t tried Saga before, so we took the opportunity to play a 4pt introductory game. He played the Vikings defending their home and I played the Irish attackers. It was a pretty tight game and I had to be crafty (something the Irish are good at!) to carve out a win.
I haven’t played since Hamburg, but I have to say it is a system I love. I don’t think it’ll be too hard to convince Garreth to play another game.
Until next time,
Owen
