I only started 40k in 8th edition: the simplicity of the rules and the aesthetic of the Primaris Space Marines really appealed to me. I had some Terminators previously painted for Space Hulk, so they were the basis of my army. In fact, it was the original version of the Space Hulk boardgame that fixed my idea of what a Space Marine is… they wear red and have a terrible secret. In collecting this force I wanted to focus on Primaris, so I haven’t picked up any of the older Marine models, other than a couple of vehicles.
I’m pretty happy with how my painting has gone on this army and I look forward to adding to it with the Indomitus boxed set.
