Irusk did not like the south of Khador in the middle of the, albeit short, summer. It was hot, too damn hot, and was frequented by the most villainous filth. These pirates were men without honour, fighting for coin and caring about nothing but their own hide. The clear weather allowed them to hit the [...]

This is just a short battle report of a game Steve and I played before Christmas. It was a 35pt game between Khador and the Retribution. Steve’s army was – Kaelyssa, Night’s Whisper Chimera Griffon Hydra Dawnguard Invictors (Leader and 5 Grunts) Dawnguard Invictor Officer & Standard Soulless Escort Mage Hunter Strikeforce (Leader and 9 [...]

The MkII rule book clears that up. Thankfully that’s how I’ve always pronounced it! The Brew City Gamers (see video below) posted a nice overview of the book for anyone who doesn’t have it yet. On a side note – I’m going to stop talking about MkII now. As of this month Warmachine is MkII. [...]

I’m really looking forward to this. It’s like getting loads of new toys, but they aren’t new – they’re just seriously revamped. I’m particularly looking forward to running the Butcher with several ‘jacks. Owen

I bought these miniatures ages ago, but finishing painting them is pretty momentous. I’m am now fully painted before MkII. Okay, there are a couple of caveats – first one, that’s all of my Warmachine stuff painted, I still have some Hordes miniatures to do. Second one is that I’ve bought the miniatures for my [...]

Let’s face it, painting red is a pain in the backside. There are some really good thick pigment paints such as P3s Khador Red Base and the Foundation Mechrite Red, but painting them straight over a black undercoat leaves a dull and flat finish (and still takes 2-3 coats!). I don’t claim to have stuck [...]

Here’s a quick guide for painting some of the details on the mammoth Khadoran ‘caster Karchev the Terrible. The secret to painting a miniature of this size is to get the larger areas painted quickly (and sloppily!) using a large brush and then painting the remainder with as much precision as is needed in order [...]

The glue holding the flock is still drying on the base, so this guy is fresh off the painting table. He is a mammoth miniature, but surprisingly not that bad to paint. I’ll post a painting guide when I get a chance to take a few more shots. After painting the Wood Elves Forest Dragon [...]

This miniature wasn’t as bad to assemble as I thought it’d be. 24 pieces (including the base) makes for a pretty big metal miniature, but it goes together quite nicely. The pieces slot in logically and there is little green stuffing required. The green stuff is drying at the moment. Once it is I’ll wash [...]

Okay – I’m too tired to write a proper battle report, so here’s a quick narrative review of tonight’s game. Dave’s army consisted of – Karchev the Terrible Behemoth Kodiak War Dog Widowmakers Mechaniks (5) I had a slightly altered list from that which I ran recently – Iron Lich Asphyxious Skarlock Gorman di Wulfe [...]
