Malifaux – Painting The Executioner (The Guild)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QVnO5qqVBzc

Here’s a step-by-step video guide to painting the Executioner. I only had two hours to paint him, so I had to rush slightly. I think he’s turned out pretty well and will fit in with the aesthetic of the Lady Justice crew. I have a 30 soul stone game on Tuesday, so I’m looking forward [...]

Privateer Tier Previews

We’ve been treated to some Privateer treats with the previewing of the Shae and Fiona Tiers. Bell of Lost Souls have also previewed the Fiona the Black Tiers here. I haven’t painted Fiona yet, but I’ll have a look at this Tier too. I have a good few more Pirates to paint and painting them [...]

Redesigning Deathjack – Part 3

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrG0X_k8SR8

More progress. It seems to be coming together quite nicely. It’s starting to look very insect like, but it is definitely Cryxian in origin. The only thing I’m concerned with finishing off is the top part of the chassis. I’m sure I’ll figure something out! Anyway, here’s a short video update. Owen

Flames of War – Gepanzerte Panzergrenadiers, Nebelwerfers and StuG Gs

If you’re not familiar with the German army from WWII that title probably makes no sense (unless you speak German)! I’ll explain what’s what as I go. With the addition of these platoons my German army is starting to get quite large. I can now field a full company of Gepanzerte Panzergrenadiers (armoured, mounted grenadiers)! [...]

Redesigning Deathjack – Part 2

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bk4FsqDRew4

In my last post I showed a jumble of bits and a beaufitul piece of artwork. Yesterday I got started to turn that mess into something. Hopefully that something will look a little like the picture when it’s done! Anyway, here’s a video of progress so far. Owen

Redesigning Deathjack – Part 1

I think Privateer Press have some of the best sculpts of any wargames company. Deathjack, however, is not one of them – I really don’t like the shoulder skulls or the horns on the head. Of course that’s just my opinion, but I dislike the model so much I’ve not bought it and subsequently never [...]

Flames of War – Irish Guards Sherman Tanks

I’ve been interested in Operation Market Garden for a long time and the release of Hell’s Highway and A Bridge Too Far gave me a push to paint up some more Sherman tanks to support my US Paratroopers. Saying the tanks are painted as Irish Guards is a bit of an untruth. I’ve not painted [...]

Dirty Meg: Complete

I’m trying not to get totally sidetracked by other projects, but in the last while terrain, Malifaux, Epic Armageddon and Flames of War have all distracted my from painting my Privateers. I’ve had a unit of Press Gangers and Dirty Meg on the go for a couple of months, but they kept getting bumped by [...]

Malifaux – My First Game

Overview Malifaux is a little different to other wargames. For one, there are no dice. It uses cards, pretty much the same an ordinary deck of cards, as the random element. This would be like rolling a 13 sided die apart from one crucial difference – you can cheat the flip with a card from [...]
