Lady Aiyana and Holt: Complete

And just to prove I paint the backs too …

Mr. Walls is next on the painting bench.

They work really well together, nice one! :)

Thanks. I didn’t want them exactly the same as they’re not a conventional unit. I think they’re similar, but not the same :-)

Ooo la la! The only thing I would have done differently is not paint Aiyana’s sleeves the peach colour. It looks too similar to a skin tone and confuses the eye….or maybe just my eye….both of them actually.

Agreed. I think I’ll apply a thin red glaze to make it more pink. The skin and blouse are distinguishable when held close, but wargaming is all about arms length.

Love the look of Holt’s coat, the lapels really stand out and give a lot of detail to the model. Have to agree about the sleeves on Aiyana though. Her cloak looks excellent though and the inside is a fantastic shade of purple, which paint was that by the way?

Holt’s jacket turned out well. It looks like bleached hide, stone washed denim and an opulent deep red! A brass colour was used to pick out the buttons.

The basecoat for the inside of Aiyana’s cloak is Vallejo 985 Hull Red (a deep burgundy). I add progressive amount of Citadel Red Gore in layers (3-4) and then wash with Citadel Baal Red with a tiny drop of Badab Black.
